Firewalker (The Worldwalker Trilogy #2) by Josephine Angelini

Worlds divide, magic slays, and love lies in the second book of Josephine Angelini’s The Worldwalker Trilogy.

“You think I’m a monster, but my choices, as ruthless as they seem, are justified.”

Lily is back in her own universe, and she’s ready to start a new life with Rowan by her side. True, she almost died in the Pyre that fueled their escape from New Salem, and must hide her magic for the safety of everyone she cares about, but compared to fighting the Woven, the monstrous creatures inhabiting the alternate Salem, life is looking pretty good.

Unfortunately, Lillian, ruthless ruler of the 13 Cities, is not willing to let Lily go that easily. If she can’t persuade Lily to return to her world, she will force her to come back by doing away with the ones she loves.

Picking up right where Trial By Fire left off, Firewalker is another sexy, fast-paced, heartbreaking thrill ride from internationally bestselling author Josephine Angelini!

Firewalker is the exciting sequel to  Josephine Angelini Trial by Fire.

Picking straight up from where Trial By Fire left us, Lily is badly burnt and is lucky to not only to have made it back to her world, but to be alive.
Relieved to have escaped from Lillian  and be home with her mum and sister, Lilys  is now facing a whole new host of problems. From the FBI investigation into her vanishing act three months ago,to what her disappearance  did to those she left behind.

I really  enjoyed the blend of witches, magic and alternate dimensions in this series.

Although Lily is a powerful witch, she  still needs a knight in shining armour, whether that’s Rowan, Tristan, or coven. Though towards the end we see her grow and become stronger and less dependent on those around her. She becomes her own knight in ahinning armour.

There were scenes that weren’t believable, like the breakfast with, Una, Tristan and julie were they easily accepted Lily and Rowan’s explanation. Despite all this, I enjoyed the world building with the alternate dimensions offering such different extremes.

As a sequel it answers  some of the remaining question from the first book, plus opens a world of new possibilities. If you loved the first book then check out the sequel
