I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder.

Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort, snow and bodies piling up.

The thing is, us Cunninghams don’t really get along. We’ve only got one thing in common- we’ve all killed someone.

Review

I received a ARC from the publisher for a honest review.

Well Dam! That was a journey.

This was the first book by author Benjamin Stevenson that I have read and it is one hell of a trip. This story is full of twist and a vintage feel that has you wanting more.

I thought i knew the answers halfway through and i was suprised at how wrong i was.

Would you kill for your family?

Would you lie for your family?

Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone is set in a remote, mountain resort the Cunningham get together for a family reunion. For the first time in years the whole family is together, but it isn’t going to be smooth sailing, with family drama grown with the help of a storm. The family dynamics are relatable, with each character seeming to be so tangible that it as if you are a member of the family. Of course personality clashes, family drama and secrets, are expected when the family is together for the first time in years.

I loved that the opening page the book lists the 10 Commandments of Detective Fiction by Ronald Knox. Knox belonged to the Detection Club; an assembly of legendary mystery writers that includes Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers.
Plus for those who are just here for the drama those pages are listed.
I’m am doing my best to avoid giving away both the plot and potential spoilers.

This is not a genre of book that I have read much of but after reading the first couple of pages I was hooked. At times it did remind me a little bit of a pick your own ending book, but i think that was because of the reference through it. The excitement around this book is well deserved and something I can see growing.
